Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Wilmington Team Behind Level Two Chimney Wilmington
We’re the crew that shows up in the marked van, uniformed, with a name you’ll recognize from the text we sent 20 minutes out. Every member of our Wilmington team has been background-checked, trained to the Haven Standard, and assigned to jobs where their specific skill set fits the work. What unites us is simple: we don’t start until you’ve got the written price in hand, and we don’t leave until the photo record is documented. That’s been Clause 1 and Clause 4 since 2009, and it’s how we’ve completed more than 38,000 chimney inspections and cleanings across the network.
Our People
Corrine Halstead, Owner
I started Level Two Chimney Co. in 2009 after watching too many Wilmington homeowners get a verbal “ballpark” that doubled once the tech was already on the roof. My background is in field operations, not sales, and that shows in how we run jobs. I’m still on-site for complex rebuilds and liner installations, and I personally review every photo record before it goes to the customer. When I’m not checking flue liner pulls in Greenville or crown pours in Elsmere, I’m usually updating our material specs from DuraFlex or HeatShield to make sure we’re not pushing product we wouldn’t use on our own houses. I keep a beat-up NFPA 211 code book in my truck. It’s held together with tape and stubbornness.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been running chimney sweep and inspection crews for 12 years, and he’s the tech we assign when a Wilmington customer calls with a suspected Class III creosote buildup or a smoking fireplace that three other companies couldn’t diagnose. He’s NFPA 211 Level 2 certified and specializes in camera-scan diagnostics, which means he’s the one crawling the smoke chamber with the visual inspection unit to find the gap or breach others missed. Marcus grew up in the Forty Acres neighborhood and still lives there with his two dogs, both of whom have learned to ignore the sound of his work boots hitting the porch at odd hours. He has a habit of explaining exactly what he found before he explains what it costs, which is why customers specifically request him for second opinions on competitor estimates.
Dana K., Senior Installer
Dana handles our liner installations, crown rebuilds, and any job that involves scaffolding or steep-pitch work on Wilmington’s older homes, particularly in the Delaware Avenue historic district where roof access is complicated and the flues are rarely standard sizing. She’s certified in HeatShield cerfractory flue repair and DuraFlex relining systems, and she’s the one who measures twice so we’re not cutting stainless steel on a ladder. Dana joined us in 2017 after running her own small masonry crew, and she brought a rigor about material sourcing that shaped how we buy through Haven’s network today. Off the clock, she restores vintage motorcycles and applies the same tolerance-for-no-BS to both hobbies.
James R., Service Coordinator
James is the live voice you get when you call (610) 546-5053 at 10 PM on a Saturday because you smelled something odd from the fireplace. He’s been with us since 2014 and knows the scheduling realities of New Castle County traffic, permit timing, and which Wilmington neighborhoods have the pre-1950 clay flue liners that always need a camera look before we quote. James manages the text alerts, the technician assignments, and the written price delivery under Haven Standard Clause 1. He’s also the one who catches scheduling conflicts before they happen, which is why our on-time arrival rate stays where it does. He grew up in Newport and still won’t let Marcus live down the time he locked the van keys in a customer’s garage in Trolley Square.
Aisha M., Apprentice Technician
Aisha is in her second year of hands-on training and already handles standard sweep and inspection work across Wilmington and nearby Pike Creek under direct supervision. She’s working toward her NFPA 211 Level 2 certification and has developed particular skill at identifying spalling brick and deteriorated mortar joints on exterior chimney assessments, the kind of early-stage damage that saves a homeowner from a full rebuild if it’s caught in time. Aisha asks more questions than any apprentice we’ve had, which means the rest of the crew has to know their answers cold. She lives near the Riverfront and bikes to jobs when weather allows, showing up early to set up equipment and review the photo record from the previous visit.
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard isn’t a poster on the wall for us. It’s the operating system. Clause 1 means every Wilmington customer gets a written price, written scope, and written warranty before anyone touches a tool. Clause 4 means Marcus, Dana, Aisha, or whoever we send brings back a documented photo record from every visit, archived and available to the customer. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to every job we book, whether it’s a routine sweep in Brandywine Hundred or a full liner pull in the city. We’re independently owned and operated, not a franchise, and we source materials from DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield through Haven’s buying network to keep pricing honest. When you call (610) 546-5053, James answers, or one of us does. No voicemail. No web form. Just a live person who can get you scheduled and get your written quote started.
